Who we are
This website is run by PowerArc Ltd ("PowerArc", "we", "us"), a company registered in England & Wales (company number 16481601), at 165 High Street, Hornchurch, Essex RM11 3XS. What we collect
When you ask for a quote
Through the quote form we collect the type of work you need, how urgent it is, the property postcode and type, your name, phone number, email address (if you give it), how you'd like to be contacted, and any notes you add. We also record which page you sent the form from.
When you call, message or email us
We keep the details you give us so we can reply and carry out the work: your name, contact details, the property address and information about the job, including any photos you send by WhatsApp or email.
When you become a customer
We keep records of the work we do, including quotes, invoices, payments and the certificates we issue (such as Electrical Installation Certificates and EICRs), which include the property address.
When you browse the site
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running. See our cookie policy for cookies and similar technologies.
How we use it, and our lawful basis
- To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
- To carry out and certify the work: performance of our contract with you.
- To issue certificates and notify building control: legal obligation (for example under the Building Regulations).
- To keep financial records: legal obligation (tax and company law).
- To protect the site from spam and abuse: our legitimate interests.
- To measure how the website is used (only if you accept analytics cookies): your consent.
We do not sell your information and we do not use it for marketing unless you have asked us to.
Who we share it with
We only share personal information where we need to:
- our website host and email provider, who store data on our behalf;
- the competent person scheme and local authority building control, when we notify work as the Building Regulations require;
- your landlord, letting agent or tenant, where they are part of the job (for example arranging access for an EICR);
- our accountants, insurers and professional advisers;
- the police or other authorities, if the law requires it.
Messages sent by WhatsApp are handled by WhatsApp under its own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
Quote requests that don't go ahead are deleted within 12 months. Customer records, invoices and copies of certificates are kept for at least 6 years after the work, because of tax rules and because certificates may be needed for the property later.
Keeping it safe
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections to this website. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so please don't send bank details through the quote form.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to ask us to transfer it, and to withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent. To use any of these rights, email info@powerarcelectrical.co.uk. We will reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
